  39 This Bold Runtime Library Exception ("Exception") is an additional
  40 permission under section 7 of the GNU General Public License, version
  41 3 ("GPLv3"). It applies to a given file (the "Runtime Library") that
  42 bears a notice placed by the copyright holder of the file stating that
  43 the file is governed by GPLv3 along with this Exception.

  45 When you use Bold to link a program, Bold may combine portions of
  46 certain Bold runtime libraries with the compiled program. The purpose
  47 of this Exception is to allow linking non-GPL (including proprietary)
  48 programs to use, in this way, the runtime libraries covered by this

  53 A file is an "Independent Module" if it either requires the Runtime
  54 Library for execution after a Linking Process, or makes use of an
  55 interface provided by the Runtime Library, but is not otherwise based

  58 "Bold" means a version of the Byte Optimized Linker, with or without
  59 modifications, governed by version 3 (or a specified later version) of
  60 the GNU General Public License (GPL) with the option of using any
  61 subsequent versions published by the FSF.

  63 "GPL-compatible Software" is software whose conditions of propagation,
  64 modification and use would permit combination with Bold in accord with
  65 the license of Bold.

  67 "Target Code" refers to output from any compiler for a real or virtual
  68 target processor architecture, in executable form or suitable for
  69 input to an assembler, loader, linker and/or execution
  70 phase. Notwithstanding that, Target Code does not include data in any

  72 for producing a compiler intermediate representation.

  74 The "Linking Process" combines Target Code in intermediate object form,

  80 optimize any Bold intermediate representations would not qualify as an

  90 consistent with the licensing of the Independent Modules.
